LOST AND FOUND

 

We lost and we found. Lost our worries, stress and anger; found for ourselves- peace, contentment and inspiration. Inspiration to live a life with more meaning, true happiness and less materialism. It is amusing how the mountains around made every breath feel better and greater.

Our recent visit to Manali, Himachal Pradesh left a huge impact on us and only for good. Every moment of the trip was worth cherishing and gave us learnings to remember for life. 

The scenic beauty

"Waoo!! See!! Look here!! Look there!! See this!! See that there! It's so beautiful! I am awestruck! It's breathtaking! I wish that was my house! I want to live there! Look at that, it's so alluring!!", are a few lines that I said or heard almost every second. Every nook and corner had only beauty to witness. It was not just a visual treat but the mountains were talking  to the soul. Every second the heart wanted to stop and absorb it all - the mountains, the fresh breeze, the shining sun and the positivity around. Each moment was more alive than the previous one. It was so beautiful that even looking back to the pictures makes me stop life, sigh and relive a moment of serenity.

The people

The people we met there were so terrific that we started questioning our existence as humans. Every person was so calm, fulfilled and cheerful. Just looking at them can inspire you to be a better human. Everyone we met there only brought a little wider smile to our face and a little more warmth to our hearts. The hosts of the hotels we stayed at, the places we stopped by to eat and even the people we crossed on the road- were all competently humble, polite, and a great pleasure to meet to. Our guide for paragliding is a gem we found in Himachal. Talking to him for nearly one hour had us all wondering of what are we doing with our lives. Working, eating and living- but where is that happiness that was there on his face. The light heartedness, contentment and delight in these people were reflected in every word they said. Merely looking at them made us smile. They have deeply inspired us to enjoy and live every moment of life full of enthusiasm and be happy in whatever life has to offer. And we couldn't be more gratified.

Atal tunnel

Just like you, i had also been wondering that what's the hype, it's just a tunnel right, we have so many of them everywhere. But probably you never understand till you experience it yourself. That "mere tunnel" connects you to a different world. You enter the tunnel all surrounded by the vegetation in vibrant colours reflecting the sun falling on them, and you exit into a sparkling world of white with gigantic mountains covered in snow. Both the ends of the tunnel are two different heavens and everyone should get to visit the two.

The convenience to reach either side increases manifold times with the construction of the tunnel. So even if it's snowing like crazy, you can reach to and fro Shishu village without any trouble- safe and sound.

Lost and Found, Kalga Village

It's amazing how Anirudh and Stephanie are hosting this beauty with all their heart making the experience for the guests worth everything. Everything about the place is a learning experience. Starting from how you need to first trek for some time to reach the place-you'll take a few wrong turns, come back some way and walk a little extra- but the beautiful views just make it all worth. Isn't this life all about- even if there are a few wrong decisions made- don't be afraid to start afresh, and most importantly- don't forget to enjoy the journey in the haste to reach your destination. The property is so cute in itself with nature surrounding it from everywhere. The beauty of this place truly lies in the brutal rawness of it. Lost and found adopts the practice of zero plastic and therefore offers only fresh food. Nothing that uses plastic packaging will be found here and we can't be more appreciative. The backyard was the highlight for us. It's the perfect place to soak in some Sun and catch up on all the Vitamin D deficiency. Also, there has to be no worries about what to visit and where to go. Just walk in any direction and all you'll see is beauty. The apple farms behind the property (just 2 minutes walk away) are the perfect place to sit, relax and introspect while munching on some fresh apples and enjoying the mesmerizing view all around. The simplicity of life and the pleasure of nature will leave you questioning a lot of things. For us this served as an inspiration to become better humans not just for ourselves, but also for the world around us.

Everything about the travel was so peaceful, calming, filled with contentment and serenity, inspiring and full of learning. We are so grateful for the happy realization that this travel has given us; you'll keep losing old things and finding new ones, but your happiness is for you to keep by building a life inspiring you everyday to live more.
